2009 art summary

it's an art summary!
why do i feel as if it fails at the "summary" part? :/ oh well.

let's see. for 2009,

my (drawing) art style has changed a LOT i think, primarily because of my starting classical art school in June.

i've been trying a lot of different stuff in terms of pose and composition (angles, non-standing, dynamic, etc.)

in relation to previous bullet, i can say i've been more expressive and experimenting this year, which i love. lately i've been finding my usual drawing a lot easier because i've learned to "let go" more. not so afraid to make mistakes, too. and: hatching FTW

i've tried a lot of different traditional media, like softer pencils, charcoal, and colored media like watercolor and colored pencils. (and also mixing them up, yay.)

also, since art school, i've been drawing a lot of other stuff ASIDE from humans in manga style, which i've been drawing for years.
i've drawn stuff like fruits and flowers and baskets and drapery and photorealistic statues. 8D lately i've been drawing a lot of chibi too, for work purposes 8D;;

aside from drawing, i've also done a lot of craft art, like that paper sculpture you see over there. i've also done ceramics, fabric, wire, and a lot of other shit. :>

THINKING OUT OF THE BOX. trying, at least.

PHOTOGRAPHY. i love it.


all in all, it's been an enjoyable year especially for the artist in me. primarily because of art school of course, and all the change that came with the package. i haven't drawn much in my "own" genre for the past half of the year although i hope i can draw more after the adjustment. i am terribly missing my sexy boys. (laughs)
