NOTES AND RULES

Notes on prices:
length (with samples):
head shot (
[link] [link]) ->
starting price (SP)
chest up (
[link]) ->
SP+$5
waist up (
[link]) ->
SP+$7
full body (
[link]) ->
SP+$10
size of original:
traditional: i'll do everything on 9"x12"
for watercolor pieces, i can do as big as B2 (negotiable for bigger than 9x12")
# of characters per piecelogically, i should double the price if for example i'm doing 2 characters, but i'm just being insane, so let's talk about it, ok?
detail - price also depends on how complicated it is.

i do put much value on traditional pieces in terms of effort and difficulty. and lack of ctrl+z.
fu-fu can do:
boys

men

BL (Boy's Love) <3

original characters

fanarts are ok (but expect me to add a touch of my style to it)

no background or simple background only
fu-fu may do:
chibi / kids - it depends on the character, so references first.

girls - please ask me first, then we'll discuss it.

complicated costumes - references are a MUST.
fu-fu won't do:
yuri / shoujo-ai

explicit stuff. i would do sexy and suggestive but that's about it.

animals and other non-human-like creatures

HOW TO?

send me a
note.
please include your username, and info about your commission (characters, references, size, etc.)

PAYMENT

Payment would be done through
Paypal (either with a paypal transfer or credit card payment.)
if currencies confuse you like they do me, please use this Paypal fee calculator.
full payment comes
after i show the initial sketch and it is approved by commissioner-dear.

once the sketch is approved, there's no turning back, ok?

please understand that it's hard to make last-minute adjustments especially with traditional pieces.
i won't be doing the finishing without the full payment. i'm trying to achieve a compromise here: the commissioner has to approve before s/he pays anything, but s/he has to pay full before i do all the work so that i'm assured i'm not wasting any effort. fair enough?
RULES (?)

i am very open to suggestions from the commissioner, but i have the final word, ok?

for original characters, please give me detailed descriptions (and reference pics if possible). giving a personality background helps a lot too.

in the case of traditional art, i'll
ship the original to the commissioner if s/he wants, so talk to me about that.

please
be patient with your commission, i'll do it as fast as i can. but i don't draw full-time because i go to university. i
will note if i can't finish the sketch in 2 weeks. :9

i'll be posting images of the commission here in my dA account, watermarked and credited to the commissioner.

i'll sign the piece as the artist even if you are the commissioner. if you have a problem with that, please tell me.

please refrain from posting the commission piece (a scan, a picture, the digital image, etc) anywhere else after you receive it. if you should, please
tell me, and please credit properly. i would also require a little in-page non-obstrusive watermark.

if you have any more questions, please include it in your note.
please do read through everything before sending me a note. it's really simple, srsly.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATRONAGE.

Also at the very least if I commission something I'd want the right to post it as coverart for a story on a website. Mind you I credit the artist because (besides the obvious they drew it) if I commissioned them I obviously like their work and well I love to point good artist out whenever I get the chance.
Also I've colored linearts and posted them (linking to the artist, lineart, or both of course), Uke-chan doesn't sound as though she would be okay with this where do you stand? I ask because I love to color stuff and if I wanted to commission a lineart I need to know.
If it's a problem, that's fine but I'd likely find somebody else for my original characters. That or do them myself which I do but I'm not that good yet. So commission is nice.

on the other hand, i have some of my own guidelines, but i don't really carve them on stone. i try not to scare potential commissioners, so they can at least ask me if they have any questions. so i'm glad you asked
about publishing and posting it... i guess if you credit properly i'm okay with it. although, if you publish, or if wherever there is money involved, technically i should receive royalty - which is either a little percentage of sales profit, or a certain little amount per copy sold.
and about linearts, i guess i'm okay with that, again, as long as you credit properly. i'd greatly appreciate little watermarks somewhere (not obstrusive) on the piece
so, does that answer your questions or did i miss anything?

Projects: For example I've commissioned 3 pieces through Demona to use specifically for coverart. If I publish the things myself (only if they are well recieved of course) I'd probably print them using a local but small print shop and then sell them fairly cheap like between 5 and 10 bucks or something... basically just to cover my cost plus a couple bucks. I have one project she's working on though that is well while a short story itself is part of a larger series called Ellaysia which would probably be printed almost like a novel and if I did that I'd want to put chapter art, which would probably only be sketches but I'd probably commission full color (plus the sketch) either CGed or traditional. Traditional would be neat for me to have just because they're my characters and well nifty; and CG would be easier if I ever put together an "ART of Ellaysia" which would only happen if I ever published on large scale and then the artist would get royalties. (I have some art I've done myself of various characters) Large scale being me getting it accepted through a major publisher. Which might be years down the road but I don't want to discount the possibility. Frankly on the small scale I really wouldn't want to do the royalties and would rather arrange something else. For example I've given Demona free use of the characters. She can sell prints and teeshirts with my characters on it just as she does with her own characters. Which for small scale is fair and it doesn't mean I wouldn't give her royalties if large scale publication becomes a possibility. The big thing is small scale royalties (which if I'm lucky I'd sell 20 copies (most of which would probably be my family... well I might sell more since I have a big family but you see what I mean) and it would be a royal pain in the butt in my opinion. Although I'd be willing to give the guarantee that if I got published the artist I commission now would be used rather than let the publishing house pick an artist (since I'm sure they could do that). BUT like I said it's most likely going to be small scale publication for the sake of my own ego.
